Signal Collection Summary

Key market signals from 2025-2026 research data, and the competitive landscape Klerio is entering.

88%
Nominal AI awareness
Vietnamese office workers report using AI
19%
Actual daily use
Real daily usage rate in urban areas
15pp
Personal vs. work gap
53% personal, 38% at work
70%
Self-provision tools
Rather than wait for company rollout
Key Market Signals
  • Adoption gap: Large gap between personal AI use (53%) and work use (38%). 70% of employees self-provision personal tools rather than waiting for company rollout.
  • Skill barrier (prompt barrier): The biggest bottleneck. Users publicly ask in communities for prompts because they "don't know what to ask." Posts about using Claude without coding get the highest engagement.
  • Gray market and price sensitivity: Users resist $20/month and switch to reseller accounts at 40,000-89,000 VND/month. Entire companies share one account.
  • Document processing demand: Converting PDF to Excel/Word, format-preserving translation, and meeting minutes writing are the top explicitly-named unmet needs.
  • Claude is preferred but blocked: Users acknowledge Claude as the best model for writing tasks in Vietnam. Price and account instability (bans, token limits, degrading quality) are the barriers.
Competitive Landscape

International - Chat-first Giants (Threat: High)

ChatGPT (OpenAI)
81% platform usage share in Vietnam. Just launched $100/month Pro tier to segment users by willingness to pay.
Claude (Anthropic)
Highest-rated for writing quality in Vietnam. Just launched Fable 5, strong on spreadsheet processing and financial analysis.
Google Workspace AI + Microsoft Copilot
Most formidable in terms of integration - already built into users' daily tools (Gmail, Docs, Excel). Rolling out summer 2026.
Perplexity + NotebookLM
Dominate information lookup and source-cited document summarization. Different use case but compete for the same attention.

Local and Vertical (Threat: Medium)

FPT AI Platform
Building sovereign AI infrastructure for Vietnamese users. FPT plans to launch an office AI assistant in H2 2026 - most direct local competitor.
AI Hay
Local platform with high satisfaction (47%) due to local context understanding. Usage is 24% but satisfaction nearly matches ChatGPT.
Careernote + MistWriter
Niche tools for CV optimization and thesis writing. Overlap with the Job Seeker segment.

Invisible Competitors

Gray market resellers
Shared accounts at 40k-89k/month. Sets a real psychological price ceiling Klerio must beat.
Manual processes
In traditional industries (especially Accounting), "Excel wizardry" is the real alternative. Trust is as important as features.

SWOT & Insights

Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and the key insights driving the recommendation.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths

  • Skill-first model: Completely removes the prompt-engineering barrier
  • Stable Claude layer: Solves user fears about account bans and degrading output quality
  • Pay-as-you-go: Perfect match for Vietnamese users' irregular, small-ticket spending habits

Weaknesses

  • Skill library needs sufficient breadth to retain users - too few Skills means users fall back to free chat
  • Need to build trust around sustainability compared to international tools
  • Dependent on third-party API quality (Claude, OpenAI)

Opportunities

  • Accounting segment: 105+ community posts asking about AI - completely underserved
  • Executive layer: Growing demand for AI-generated financial reports and decision dashboards
  • Individual-first: Leverage the 15pp personal vs. work gap to enter enterprises bottom-up

Threats

  • Gray market (40k-89k/month) sets a real psychological price ceiling
  • Microsoft Copilot being rolled out top-down at large enterprises
  • Concern about AI overuse reducing independent thinking ("brain rot")
Insights
Insight 1
"Peace of mind" beats productivity. In Vietnam in 2026, mental health is a top priority. AI needs to be positioned as a tool that reduces cognitive stress, not just one that increases speed.
Insight 2
"1 person = a whole team" is the most viral framing in Vietnamese social media. It directly taps into the anxiety of resource-strapped teams and SMEs.
Insight 3
Claude is the "true love" but expensive. Users openly admit Claude is the best quality AI for Vietnamese writing, but the price barrier prevents daily use. Klerio positions as the trusted intermediary.
Priority Hypotheses to Validate
H1 - Priority
The prompt barrier is the main reason office workers don't use AI, not a lack of motivation or access.
H2 - Priority
Users will pay per task in VND if the output feels more "worth it" than paying a monthly subscription fee.
H6 - Priority
Document-processing Skills (PDF, Excel, meeting minutes) will have the highest conversion rate of any Skills in Phase 1.

Recommendation

Strategic direction approved by Founder on 12 Jun 2026. Core shift: Chat-first to Skill-first / Solution-first.

Positioning and Messaging
  • Shift the model from "Chat-first" to "Skill-first / Solution-first" to remove the prompt-writing barrier entirely. Rename "Template" to "Skill" for accuracy.
  • Assert positioning as Official Provider layer - using Claude/GPT APIs directly from official providers. Distinct from gray market shared accounts and resellers.
  • "1 nguoi = ca team" framing: Instead of only talking about "saving time," use the message "one person can do the work of a whole team." Currently the most viral phrasing on Vietnamese social media.
  • "Tam tri thanh thoi" (Peace of mind) emotional positioning: Position Klerio as an AI tool that brings peace of mind and reduces cognitive stress, rather than focusing only on labor productivity.
  • Stable Claude layer: Trustworthy intermediary that solves user fears about account bans, token limits, and response quality gradually becoming "lazier" over long chat sessions.
Pricing Strategy

Currency and model

VND, pay-per-task. Use concrete VND price anchors (e.g., 10,000 VND per meeting minutes task) to match Vietnamese spending habits. Gray market anchor is 40k-89k VND/month - Klerio pricing must compare favorably.

Consideration

Pricing per task needs careful calibration to avoid users abandoning complex tasks due to perceived high per-task cost. Each Skill's specific price must be calculated based on token cost + desired margin.

Go-to-Market Strategy
  • Individual-first: B2C first, B2B later. The 15pp personal vs. work gap means Klerio should enter enterprises by attracting individual employees who self-provision tools - not by selling enterprise packages from day one.
  • Leverage local advantages: Build features international tools neglect - Vietnamese administrative document formats, regional accent recognition (North/South), Vietnam-specific legal document types.
Features and UX Direction
  • Fresh-form-per-task architecture: Each task form is a clean, independent working session. Prevents AI "getting lazier" over long chats (context degradation) and ensures consistent output quality.
  • Consider mobile support: Strong signals that Vietnamese users (especially outside major cities) require mobile access. Gap competitors haven't solved. Consider Remote Control features accessible via mobile.
  • Remove model selection UI: Target users are non-technical and don't care which model runs. Klerio's multi-model backend selects the optimal model automatically per Skill.
  • Keep PII masking, credit system, Notes module as-is. Third-party integrations and Workspace evolution to be addressed in Recommendation v2.

Next Steps

Actions for the Technical and Research teams, plus impact of the Jun 10 Weekly Update on this recommendation.

Technical Team
1
Build one single Skill immediately to create a Happy Case: Job Search for the Job Seeker segment. Full team review of feasibility.
2
Continue with 11 remaining Skills across the two priority packs after Recommendation v2 is delivered (Jul 2026).
3
Hold off on Accounting Skills. Complex processes and strict VAS regulatory requirements. Need 3-5 accountant interviews first.
Research Team
1
Conduct in-depth interviews with 5 groups (Job Seeker, Marketer, HR/TA, Admin, Accountant) to re-validate which features matter most for non-technical SME workers.
2
Continue Phase 2 research: User Research + Market Research (Competitor and Positioning Map). Output: Recommendation v2.
3
Trial competitor tools: Claude Cowork, Codex Remote, paid ChatGPT and Gemini, AI Hay, Slider.ai. Document findings per product.
Appendix - Impact of Jun 10 Weekly Update
Impact 1 - Reinforces "Pay-as-you-go"
OpenAI's $100/month Pro tier confirms the market is moving toward flexible consumption packages. Increases confidence in Klerio's per-task pricing strategy.
Impact 2 - Core value shifts from "Access" to "Output"
Frontier model capabilities are increasingly free (Claude Fable 5 free trial). Klerio cannot rely solely on selling "access to Claude." Differentiation must be entirely in guided workflows and ready-to-use outputs.
Impact 3 - New competitive pressure
Google Workspace AI (Docs Live, Gmail Live) rolling out summer 2026 - directly overlapping with Klerio's email and document use cases. FPT AI Platform and WPS 365 also entering. Klerio must compete on Vietnamese context depth, not model access.
Impact 4 - Claude Fable 5 supports high-priority Skills
Fable 5 is particularly strong in spreadsheet processing, financial analysis, and legal document review. Directly supports high-priority Skills (#4 Excel Data Report, #9 Document Translation). 25-30% fewer turns per task means lower token cost per successful output.
Impact 5 - Revenue-first, not growth-first
Vietnam startup funding down 87% YoY. Klerio must prioritize Skills with fastest path to revenue conversion (CV-JD Matching) rather than focusing solely on growing a free user base.
